We understand that your wedding is a precious day in your life, and our goal is to provide you with a lasting, quality record or your special day. When you choose a photographer, you should be sure that the style of the photographer matches your expectations. Some photographers specialize in time honored formal portraits; others cater to more modern photojournalism styles.
At Impression Studio, we provide a blend of styles using color and black and white that we have found appeals to a broad audience, and we pride ourselves in our good working relationship with the clergy, and our desire to be “out of the way” during your ceremony. We typically have the following focus areas in a typical wedding:
Before the wedding:
We offer engagement photos, which give an informal, warm and close view of the couple. These shots are very popular at the reception, and are also used for wedding announcements.
We also offer bridal and groom sessions, which is the best way to get shots of the individuals without taking time from your wedding day. Often, these are done both in-studio and outdoors in the formal attire of the wedding.
Immediately before, and sometimes after the wedding:
This is when we do our formal portraiture, and ideally it is done before the wedding so that after the wedding, as little time is used as possible and you can get to your reception quickly. This is the time when parents, grandparents, and any other relatives that want to have pictures done with the bride and groom can have their pictures taken.
During the wedding:
We cover the wedding in an unobtrusive way, typically without flash photography. We always follow church policy for photography; if there are any questions as to how this affects our shooting decisions, please ask. We try to get both the important highlights of the ceremony, plus shots that provide a feel of the ambience of the ceremony.
After the wedding:
We record all the important events of the rest of your day, from exiting the church to the reception, and provide detail shots that are often overlooked, but fondly remembered.
Impression Studio typically uses the latest high-end digital cameras and we can easily make prints up to 40x60". Our albums are of the finest quality and studio samples can be viewed. All prints are either on quality photographic paper, or, when appropriate, on longer lasting papers with archival inks using our high-end digital printer. In house printing is typically used for watercolor and matte type papers, although the bulk of most weddings is printed by an out of state professional lab on a non-glossy, luster type surface.
We also have extensive experience in digital manipulation of the images we take in order to bring out the art of a scene. Most prints will be untouched other than cropping and color balance, but when appropriate, and when it will add to a picture, we will enhance and manipulate an image to provide an artistic impression of your day.
